really i like the idea of having an online home-- but i already have like a main site, so this is going to be more of a spot where I can mess around and write about things i'm learning, my art explorations and other preoccupations. I have a goal to start a blog on my main site, but since it'll be a place i'm planning on sharing with people there's a little more pressure. Here I'm planning on less synthesizing and more just getting stuff out of my head and also having the freedom to do indie/handmade web experimentation stuff. Also it's so crazy how many things I see in a day that inspire me but writing them down in a physical list feels unfulfilling because they are on the web and unfortunately analog descriptors don't do them justice. I'm hoping certain things from here can make their way to the main blog or to the zines if ideas become polished enough
I was trying to find a japanese word for like a self-learner or someone who teaches themselves things but couldn't find one. I found the word dokugaku which just means self-study, and I thought the word sort of sounds like dog which I at least know in japanese without having to google translate. I am really proud of my ability to teach myself things or at least find the resources to try and do it on my own. I am really interested in other cultures, different languages, travel, history, music, programming, art, fashion, cosmetics, design, zines, comics, fiber design, ceramics-- so many fucking things, maybe too many fucking things. Of course based on the name you can tell I'm a bit of weeb but it's not just Japanese culture I love-- I've been trying to learn french for like maybe the past 10 years (I really hope that I can document that on here)
